The construction industry is saying that proposals in the draft consultation for the 2010 version of Part L of the Building Regulations is going to make conservatories and extensions more expensive for people looking to add to their home.

Consumers who build extensions are likely to be made to fork out thousands of pounds improving the energy efficiency of the rest of their property under the proposals.
