How To Make Easy Work Of Homeworking

How to make homeworking work for you

Most people who worked in an office prior to the pandemic, will have seen very little of their workplace ever since, and had to continue with their duties at home.

Are you one of those affected by this, and, if so, how have you coped with homeworking?

Some companies have found that their employees have adjusted to WFH so well that they are not insisting they come back to the office permanently, offering them flexible working where they either work at home permanently or on a part-time basis.

That may suit you down to the ground if you have a good workspace in your house.

How do you get a good workspace? This is how:

French / Patio / Bi-Folding Doors

You want to get lots of that spring sunshine into your work area as a light and bright atmosphere is imperative to keep you motivated and give you that drive.

Draw it inwards by having French, patio or bi-folding doors installed in the section of the room that the sun hits the most throughout the day.

If you get too hot and bothered whilst working, you can always leave the doors ajar to let some fresh air blow in and keep you cool.

Roof Lantern / Skylight

Get some more glass into the workspace through the ceiling, by which we mean adding a roof lantern or skylight to create a glazed covering.

Those who have seen and walked into a room with a roof lantern or skylight will know just how captivating they are to look at, and how much light they attract.

Glass is the predominant aspect of the modern roof lantern and skylight as they have so little framework nowadays.

Home Office Extension

The volume of online searches for ‘home offices’ has massively increased over the past year, and it might make sense for you to invest in one, rather than have a makeshift workspace.

When you are in the middle of having a home office extension designed, ask for French, patio or bi-folding doors, or a roof lantern and skylight, so it encompasses the lot.

You’re likely to be more productive in a dedicated home office than you would be working whilst sat on the bed or elsewhere indoors.
