Is every composite door the same?
No, composite doors can vary in structure. If you opted for a standard composite door, your new door will have a depth of 44mm and be filled with foam. Our lightweight standard composite doors will have a GRP colour skin, which is commonly referred to as fibreglass.
If you are looking for a door that’s even stronger, our Solid Core composite doors are a lot thicker. With a depth of 48mm, it has been made from multiple laminated layers of timber. Solid Core composite doors have a UPVC skin, and it’s simple to colour-match them to the door frame.
With the difference in structures and styles of our composite doors, there is some variation in price. Contact us to find out more.

Can I choose a different colour on the inside and outside of my new door?
Yes, this is a common option for most door styles, including replacement doors in Yorkshire. For advice on what’s possible for your chosen door, talk to an Orion advisor. Customers who prefer to make a statement with the external colour often want a more neutral colour on the inside. Why not choose a bold red colour for the external and a subtle cream for the internal?

What is Secured by Design?
Secured by Design is a security initiative supported by the police. It was set up to upgrade the security of buildings and everything in their vicinity. The goal was to ensure there were safe places for their inhabitants to live in.
Secured by Design has a product-based accreditation scheme, which is the accepted standard for all products that are able to deter crime, and this includes domestic windows and doors and their crucial components, like hinges and locks.
Orion’s sister manufacturing company, Conservatory Outlet, is a member of Secured by Design, so the majority of our products meet and exceed the standard set by SBD. If you want to talk about the security of our products, please don’t hesitate to get in touch.
