Why UPVC Is Such A Quality Material For Home Improvement Products

Most of the products in our extensive range are manufactured from UPVC and that’s been the case for many years.

White UPVC Windows

It’s a building material that’s been in existence since 1935, and if you didn’t know, UPVC is a shortened version of Unplasticized Polyvinyl Chloride.

But it wasn’t until the 1980’s and 1990’s that UPVC window and door manufacturing really began to take off, leading to the double glazing boom.

Several decades on from that, UPVC is still relied on for window and door craftsmanship, and it’s unsurprising when you consider the many benefits it offers to companies like us and our many customers.

The first of them is the affordable cost of UPVC, which is priced more cheaply than most aluminium-built products, and the majority of hardwood home improvement solutions.

UPVC is also incredibly durable.

It’s extremely rare that a UPVC product loses any of its resilience over its intended lifespan and much of that is down to the vinyl polymer used to bind chlorine atoms to a UPVC frame. This process makes UPVC different from your normal pure plastic and helps make it compatible with steel.

The insulating qualities of UPVC are impressive too. A modern UPVC window or door can achieve an exceptionally high energy rating to satisfy building regulations, keeping homes warm without the need for excessive use of heating.

And the days when white-coloured windows and doors were about the only option you had in terms of finishes for UPVC products are long gone. There’s far more variety now, and you can integrate woodgrain effects into UPVC to mimic the appearance of timber.

Looking after a UPVC-crafted product is so easy. Leave the paintbrush alone and just wipe the frame down with a wet cloth whenever it gets grubby and dirty to make it look new again.
