Orion Windows Guide To Energy Saving

Great strides have been made in the past years as far as reducing energy consumption is concerned but according to a survey by Age UK Enterprises many people still remain unaware of how to cut the cost of energy bills. 42 per cent of those polled fail to monitor the amount of energy they use which leads to people being faced with expensive energy costs and slipping into fuel poverty.
Anyone looking for ways in which they can reduce their energy bills should take the following steps:

• Replace all traditional light bulbs and put energy-saving light bulbs in their place as per bulb you can expect to save a significant amount of money.
• Whenever you leave a room unoccupied make sure you turn off the lights such as when you go up to bed or go away to work or on holiday.
• Install double glazing in Hull as it will make your home more energy efficient, cut draughts and reduce heat loss.
• Turn off appliances such as TVs, Radios, Stereos, when not in use as when left on standby they will continue to consume energy.
• Get your loft insulated as it will make for a cosier home and enable you to cut down on boiler usage.
• When buying new appliances check to see how energy efficient they are. Each appliance will be rated between A-G, with an ‘A’ rated appliance being the most efficient, and a ‘G’ rated appliance being the least efficient.
• Buy a thick pair of curtains for the living room, bedrooms etc. as they will provide a good amount of insulation.
